You don't see the point in being able to run software of a market-dominant proprietary operating system in a free software capacity? Not everything that runs in non-free spaces has an alternative in the open source community, and sometimes those alternatives aren't as good.

yeah but ReactOS is no better than WINE. it will never be used in production for anything. They should focus on simulating the old software and ignore the new, they could maybe feasibly be a replacement for real old systems running Windows NT or something

It's aiming to run the software natively instead of living inside of some runtime that requires more performance and may still have irreconcilable differences with its host. IMO Wine has always been a fine stopgap but not a complete solution.

Yeah I don't agree on either count, except in cases where people fall into this trap, wherein it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
