Well http://tracker2.postman.i2p is the most used one. Of course download/upload speeds are still not optimal for many torrents.

Now if only we could get trackers decentralized.

I2P needs more love. It's better than Tor in a lot of ways. I always say, let Tor handle clearnet browsing and let I2P handle darknet browsing.

Even for "darknet browsing" Tor is still better, however since torrenting is BAD for the Tor network and warned against by the Tor Project itself, i2p remains the best choice for anonymous torrenting.

I'll try to find the source, but hidden sites are tor are mostly a quick hack, and not very efficient

That's definitely not true, they are definitely doing quiet a bit of work on onion services.

All you need is to download and run some software. You don't need an invite.

no, nothing like that. you'll install it and it'll just work. i prefer it because it handles hidden sites and p2p much better.

I tried this out a few days ago. What I was really looking for was a way to get stuff from mainstream sites (i.e. The Pirate Bay) without having an intellectual pooperty owner getting my IP address and making my ISP send angry letters. Maybe I'm just not doing something right, but I'm not sure what features it offers that the built-in client does not. I suppose if you are using the C++ i2p implementation, it would compliment that.
Edit: It also operates a local webserver on port 1488, which is funny if coincidental.

It won't work with that, you must get the i2p torrents from places like http://tracker2.postman.i2p

No java is already a good selling point :)

I keep having trouble getting the c++ version working

Yeah, I prefer c++ in general, but i2pd doesn't have graphical configuration options. I just wanted to get right into torrenting.

Any good I2P trackers, magnet aggregator sites out there? The last time I tried it the speed on the postmans tracker was horrible.
