Wordle is such a simple game that it's impossible to stop people from playing it for free. There will always be clones. It's literally impossible to regulate people playing a game that can be done on pen and paper. It's as if the new york times payed close to a million dollars for a hangman variation, I would say wordle is only trivially different. Although I prefer wordle.
Will Wordle still be free after the New York Times buyout?
