While I'd love to be using one of those browsers with vim-keybindings, I am just not into the run whatever code any page throws in your direction-style web and wouldn't be able to use anything that doens't have uMatrix-like functionality.
Sure, you can use a hosts-file but sometimes well meaning pages, especially newspapers, come with so much junk JavaScript beyond just the ads, like Salon.com with its cryptominer.

Totally agree with you ! Tridactyl on Firefox or derived do a great job to bring vim-keybinding to the browser.

Next has a network resource dispatch system that can be used to kill off JavaScript file requests, at the very least.

With projects like this one, as well as Brave, don't you still have to use Google App Store for installing and updating extensions?

Remember browser fingerprinting if privacy and/or anonymity at all matter to you. You can test how unique a signature your browser has at https://panopticlick.eff.org/

I use Pale Moon. https://palemoon.org. It works well and is compatible with legacy FF extensions

I'm using Otter personally, because it's so much more lightweight than Firefox, and can run on basically anything lol.
It supports all the important stuff— ad-blocking, proxies, custom keybindings, custom aesthetic, multiple profiles, etc. Everything works except some of the more complex “webapps.”

Otherwise, there a good and short article about why it's now virtually impossible to have other browser than firefox (gecko) and chromium (webkit) or browser based on them.
