Would like to hear what you've guys got to say.

This far, my favorite has been Jiufen. It's a bit of an adventure getting there from Taipei, but easily done within a day, and well worth the journey. It's usually pretty packed, but that only adds to the total sensory experience. The streets are very tight, and the smell of food wafts right past you as you walk through the alleys.

When I went, it was raining, so everybody was playing umbrella chicken and trying not to crash into each other.

The view from the top is fantastic as well. And there are lots of places to drink tea and have a snack while you look out at the mountains and town below. It's definitely a place I'm going to be traveling to again next time I'm in Taiwan.

Not a huge fan of Jiufen. I remember liking it the first time I went there, years ago, but the thought of going there gives me a headache now. I do like the gold museum around the way from there.

If I had to pick favorite places by county, they would be:

  1. Sun Moon Lake in Nantou.
  2. Da Keng in Taichung.
  3. The big 'ol Buddha in Changhua.
  4. Gu Keng in Yunlin.
  5. Bu Dai Port in Jia Yi.
  6. An Ping District in Tainan.
  7. Mei Nong District in Kaohsiung.
  8. Heng Chun in Pingtung.
  9. Highway 20 in Taitung.
  10. Guang Fu Township in Hualien, especially the waterfalls near the mountains.
  11. Nan Fang Ao Port in Yilan, but Dong Shan River Water Park is great in the summer.
  12. Hong Shu Lin in New Taipei City.
  13. Little Wu Lai Waterfall in Taoyuan.
  14. Shuei Ba National Park in Hsinchu.
  15. Can't say for Jinmen, Penghu or Matsu Islands because I haven't been there. Southeast Asia always trumps those places for me.

Have yourself a good day, "General_Fuckhead" :)
