It's a good video but they should take their own advice re: extinguishing sacred thoughts that don't allow us to explore alternate possibilities because the kneejerk reaction to the critique of civilization is incredibly limiting and only leads to anarchists reproducing authority.

If you can't envision a world beyond the suffocating structures of alienation, extraction, ecocide and the prison of the city's walls, how can you hope to destroy all authority? Those are the building blocks of authority.

If you won't address the fire in the central processing unit, there's little point trying to cool the external components

Edit: changed the title to be fairer once i actually watched the video but I still think it's whack to put a disclaimer on me. Maybe it's to avoid getting flooded with spam from reds calling them a primmie.

Hi! So I don't really want to get into a whole thing re: anti-civ vs post-civ, besides to say that a thorough critique of civilization is valid and at the same time I find myself disagreeing with many of your conclusions.

Nonetheless, it's not what this video is focused on, and when linking 3rd party sources I do often have folks run up and yell "source bad/problematic/etc" as a way to dismiss anything and everything I have to say. So I've gotten into the practice of looking into the most prominent critiques and listing them alongside the reasons I think people should engage the source material anyways.

I would (and have) absolutely done the same thing when discussing others, like stating that Bakunin's perspective is colored by anti-semitism. I do apologise, because I can see how it looks like I just inadvertently threw you under the bus for no reason.

I have plans to make more content on ways to engage ideas that trigger a kneejerk reaction without altogether dismissing them. It's a little frustrating because I have SO MUCH to say about SO MANY things but these videos (low production quality and all) do still take just so much of my time & energy to produce. Hopefully once the channel is more fleshed out and my disclaimer practice is more easily discerned, it won't seem as much like I'm casually singling people out.

edit: spelling and grammar

Same but that should further demonstrate how beholden to "spooks" these people are. They can't manifest anarchy if they're expending all their energy clinging to Leviathan's deathrattle. Instead of rejecting the cruel reality that has taken all their potential, they desperately grasp for excuses to proliferate it. Fuck them and their cowardly ways.

You say "fuck them", and like fair enough, it can become exhausting and demoralizing to engage with on a regular basis. But as far as I can tell, everyone within existing social structures starts off hella spooked - that's part of how the system so easily perpetuates itself. Repeated exposure to radical ideas is demonstrably key to radicalization. So as long as I have the energy to make these sorts of adjustments - that offer people the opportunity to hear (and hopefully one day internalize) what I'm saying - I have every intention of doing just that.

I utilize a completely different strategy - I meticulously deconstruct them and every idea they hold dear using a combination of cruel, cold-hearted mockery and genuine insight into the human condition. Most of them double down and continue to tune out everything but the most vapid and hollow confirmation bias, sure. But a select few break. Everything they are, all their preconceptions, all their fear-driven narratives, it all evaporates. And then they're ready to start questioning everything.

The people who are willing to overcome their cognitive dissonance are the people who will make the most beautiful anarchy with us.

Do you want us to link this to them? They've been posting this video all over anarcho-reddit.

Ok. Hoping when they do a video about marx they add a disclaimer warning he was a white supremacist. Cuz that would actually make sense.
