It's a short-term alliance of expediency. YPG/YPJ were the best fighters on the ground to take down ISIS. Now that ISIS is gone, expect the alliance to be short-lived and abandoned pretty easily. YPG/YPJ were willing to receive aid because it helped save lives. This really isn't a big deal on either side - they both seem to know it's a short term deal based on mutual benefit. As soon as the benefits are gone, their work together is done.

No. That's not happening.
At worst the US will abandon them to be gobbled up by Turkey. The US military cares more about regional and global power than about the holdings of the SDF or Rojava.
