I'm new to this site, and it didn't take long for me to figure out what kind of political preference most of the users of this site have: socialistic.

Well I'm just someone who doesn't really give a shit about rules or something like that, but I'm absolutely not socialistic/left-winged. Is this a problem?

If you're just on f/shoplifting, it's whatever, just be nice. As far as "not caring about rules" goes, try to shoplift from Walmart or people who deserve it rather than local businesses, ya know?

For someone who doesn't care about rules you sure think a lot about right and "wrong".

ohh, they're not a leftist, and that's why they think they're in the wrong place.

@OP: you're completely fine, just don't go to /f/Socialism or /f/Anarchism for a "debate" (in bad-faith), and you'll do fine here. that kind of thing's basically the only reason liberals ever get banned.

I was just wondering if liberals/right-winged people are welcome here. Actually only came here for the shoplifting topic, but when I started looking through all the topics, I noticed some weird shit you know (like whiteness & feminism) and I was like I guess I'm on the wrong site rn so I decided to ask it.

follow-up question though, if you trust capitalism and the individuals ability to fairly provide for themself under it, how do you justify shoplifting?

you may not be as right-wing as you think ;)

I don't associate shoplifting with any political goals/aspects. It just saves a lot of money you know. And I don't justify/approve shoplifting at all, and I never did this either. But I totally disagree with left winged parties and I have an absolute disgust of Antifa (I got this disgust for Pegida as well, I think extreme-left or extreme-right people are both pretty dumb but that's my opinion) because their views just doesn't make any sense. I have this feeling for every left-winged party, and I think par example the government should protect its country from foreign dangers and should stop permitting refugees, because in the country where I live there isn't much space left and the current (center-left) government is fucking everything up. I've done a lot of voting guides, and I've never ended up at a left party. The dutch left-wing parties are clearly demonizing right-wing parties (thats also the reason that Pim Fortuyn, a dutch right-winged politican got shot to death by a left-winged maniac who was under the influence of left untrue demonizing bullcrap) and their way of debating doesn't make any sense. I'm a supporter of the dutch party ''Forum voor Democratie'', if you check out their political views you maybe understand my train of thought.

Hahaha I guess I already started a discussion (sorry for that) but I just wanted to show my view you know. Didn't mean to start a discussion or something like that, but had to clear this up because the link between shoplifting and being left- or right-winged didn't make any sense to me.

As a small aside, it's antiquated to refer to all people as men.

I think everybody should take care of himself, without the government interfering all the time.

Don't you think the institutions of authority interfering in everyday life are, generally speaking, not a part of the government? I hate cops and all, but landlords and managers control much more of the average person's time, attention, and energy, using their petty status to extract value from those lower on the totem pole. Without the totalitarian (e.g., all-controlling) system of capitalism, we would be much freer to pursue our destinies. In order to free ourselves from capitalism, we have to work together to share the means of existence-- food, clothing, shelter, water, etc-- with those who we choose to associate.

To me, taking part in revolutionary collective projects has always been much more fulfilling, and requiring of much more self-sufficiency, responsibility, and maturity, than being part of capitalist society ever has. You should try getting to know anarchists in your area, and see if you get along! If you're not into the mutual aid scene quite yet, try going to some punk concerts. You can also find a local radical bookstore in most large cities in Europe & North America.

If you're interested in reading some stuff on your own, check out The Anarchist Library

No but you don't have to be extreme-right-winged or extreme-left-winged to have a political vision on the world. And I'm more right-winged then left-winged, so no enlightened centrism.
