Capitalism and religion are interrelated

Submitted by LeftUnityIsMeme in Socialism (edited )

Capitalism and religion are not separate things. Capitalism itself is rooted in the European Abrahamic ideas of institutional authority that are modelled indirectly on the Roman empire and Catholic Church. As well, the links between modern capitalism and Calvinism can't be denied.

The modern "free market" decides the economic fate of people depending on the social stratum they occupy and independently of any semblance of free will; this has similarities with the Calvinist belief in divine predestination of the soul.
