Damn this is true. But what if you split up your “business” across multiple shops like Mercari, Ebay, Amazon, Facebook, and even to friends.

I’m no expert by any means, but I’ve heard that people got a good following and loyal customers that they could regularly sell to.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but a quality over quantity mindset wouldn’t make you stick out as well. Like selling one high-end camera every now and then, but mixing low-end things to get you a stable income.

I’m not at that point yet but just putting my thoughts out there.

The goal of business is to generate profit. Why are you starting a business with a model so limited? Your also exposing yourself to high risks with little reward. There are ways to mitigate these risks but why even invest your time with such limitations built into your model?

From a strictly business point of view its just an all around foolish endeavor. Put in some work on something more worthwhile and you can have your own shop one day where you can go in and take anything you want without such risk.

What he's trying to tell you is that the deeper into this "business" you get the more chances you'll be busted and the business will be closed. Common sense says it's better to have a small but functioning business for long term rather than a big one that will land you in jail
