Be careful at Walmart!

Submitted by PinkPorcelain in Shoplifting (edited )

Ok lifters, I hear a lot about how Walmart is safe and easy.

But today I saw a cop and a guy who was either a undercover LP or a undercover cop stop a family outside the doors as I was waiting for my Mom after work (I work at Walmart as a cashier, wanna eventually do AP actually lol but IDK if it will happen).

The family went back inside quietly and quickly.

The cop car was a unmarked one so they could not tell that they were gonna get caught.

Just keep in mind that they can call the cops to make the stop for them.

Walmart AP might be hands off, but the cops are not.

Also at some Walmart’s there is a cop stationed there at times, not all the time tho (which I honestly like as some customers can get violent) so watch out for that!

Stay safe!

Thanks for this. A lot of shoplifters who get caught make stupid mistakes however. Like looking around and stealing right in front of a camera. You have to be very careful as a shoplifter as you are breaking the law. Lp will try their best to watch you without you catching them until your in the parking lot and they’re grabbing your wrist. It’s good to know Walmart is hands off now. I’ve heard that from a 2 people know and am convinced it’s true

That is why I will not risk it at least until my “probation” or whatever it’s called is up.

Maybe never tho as I wanna be a lawyer.

Then I can defend y’all lol!

I mean it was exciting to see but then it was sad as it was probably stuff they needed, or needed to sell.

Or fuck even if they wanted it I don’t judge.

However there were kids there too with the Mom, and I know from personal experience seeing your parents get arrested is traumatizing (even if they weren’t taken to jail they were stopped and that will stay with the kids trust me).

That broke my heart.

At the risk of moralizing I am gonna say if you’re gonna lift at least try not to bring your kids with you.

Not because of of the lifter, because of LP.

Anyways, didn’t you used to work as AP for Walmart?

Did they used to be Hands On?

I often see moms mostly, but sometimes dad have thier kids when they steal, sometimes they are useful in providing a blindspot on a place with cameras in the area.

Haha. your not moralizing at all. Ya i did lp at walmart. they used to be hands on but lately ive been hearing they're hands off. I believe it too because they really discouraged us from using force. and we certainly didn't have to if we didn't want to. Lawsuits cost far more than the couple hundred bucks of items stolen. Also never bring your kids. they draw attention from lp, people use kids to steal all the time. Im a lifter and wouldn't call the police unless management made me. but most lp would call police when you use your kids.

Exactly, like for me it’s mostly you kids could see you get caught and it would fuck them up.

And using your kids to steal is...shady to me...especially if they are old enough to get charged.

Did you call the cops when people used their kids?

Only when management stepped in and made the decision too. They’re stealing from a very wealthy company and I don’t see the harm. Calling police on shoplifters doesn’t do much to deter theft anyway.

Was there a dollar amount that if stolen that you would have to call the cops on them?

you dont need a dollar amount, all they need is if they coming in here multiple times a week or in a certain month, that it often results in police called. BUt usually stealing lots of items that are worth alot usually results in police investigation.

The family probably stole large amount of items multiple times, Walmart was able to identify them and called the cops next time they entered Walmart. I don't think an undercover cop sting operation will be used for someone lifting alone which most of us seem to be. But it's good to know that this is possible at Walmart.

Yea, I mean I just wanted to post what I saw.

There is a chance that it was a undercover LP but from what i have heard they have the AP Assistant Manager in the day and a guy a night.

i seen situation like this at target, bestbuy when i used to frequently steal there(only reason i dont steal now, is because i have no car to go outside of my city, where all the good "stores" are at. the walmart staff/security, probably saw the family again and called a cop there to wait for them.
