Theft Marked?

Submitted by RandomPerson in Shoplifting (edited )

Hey, I’m thinking of stealing a pair of headphones. They have no RFID Tag on the outside but they do have a sticker that (Translated to English) Says “Theft Marked By (store)” does that mean they have an RFID inside or is it to discourage reselling?

Edit: I stole one without the “Theft Marked” sticker and it didn’t set of an alarm, I’ll take one with the sticker tomorrow.

I bet it’s source tagged with a sticker like that. Just open the package and find the tag. Remove it

What is “Source tagged”? I’m a beginner so I don’t know that much.

Edit: I googled it and it’s basically a security tag?

source tagging means there is a security tag already inside the product, or the packaging of the item that is put there by the manufacturers. an example would be pokemon tgc packs, they have the new packaging of cardboard, you open it and find an rfid sticker stuck to the back, thats source tag. The stores that sell them can only put rfid or other security tags on the outside of the products.

They usually brag about it if it’s source tagged, by making a sticker that says something like that
