Was terminated from my LP job 3 weeks ago, now looking to become a lifter

Submitted by LP420 in Shoplifting

Don't wanna talk too much about how I got fired, let's just say it was under good terms and happend because of corporate policies over self defense. Now after going back into being a regular consumerist, I want to try out lifting something myself, with all the LP knowledge I've garnered during my time working as one. My target? Saks Off 5th or Nordstorm rack. Looking to lift designer accessories or clothes. Will need every best tip the pros can give me as far as lifter knowledge goes. In return I promise to disclose info about the store I was fired from which could help a lot of you out.

Have been in the game for a long long time. Here are some bullet points

  • Dress nice, people won't look twice at someone who seems upper class
  • Be in and out as fast as possible, the quicker the better
  • in the event of an emergency, run. always. 95% Time that will save you.
  • The beepers don't matter that much - i've left stores plenty of times and had those things ring on me, but i calmly kept walking
  • Listen to your instincts - if your gut says something isn't right, listen.

My first lift was a watch st walmart. I left through the unattended exit in the garden center so it’d be obvious if they were following

Sometimes I put what I’m going to lift in a basket, and literally shop for an outfit or 2 I like, go to the fitting room and conceal the item under the clothes. When I come out they can’t see anything is missing. Make it look like your just shopping tho. Even if you have a bag they’ll move on and watch someone else if your just shopping.

My two biggest targets.

My concern is the backlog.

Alright I promised some disclosures so here we go

--> I know this is going to be a big surprise to possibly everyone here but indeed it is true that many cameras are fake and by many I mean at least two thirds of them. coincidentally, I found this out the day before my termination. Also, Home section has the best blindspots

--> you won't be chased by LP even if you visibly stock up and run out the store

-> even though they claim to they won't prosecute almost all cases of shoplifting. It usually stays at retail level and corporate never investigate shit they only visit like once a month

--> the alpha superink hard tags don't contain Ink

Haha no worries I got settled with a better and higher paying job 2 days later and got paid for 2 weeks off so it's cool. But I really want to do this, like a personal challenge.

Always do it in a way where you’ll get away even if they’re watching you

My favorite method is hiding merchandise in a blind spot and bagging it all up a couple days later right there in the blind spot. Making sure I’m not being followed on foot

since your former lp, you should know the basics, like tracking people that are suspicious and ect. use that against your advantage

I can smell LP from the other side of the store but I never personally lifted anything before, hence why I'm trying to get into the mindset of a lifter and get the courage and charisma needed to pull it off. Often times I feel like I'm in great position to lift something but I always end up giving up before trying which is what I'm trying to change

Yeah I'm sure you know this but IMO the single biggest factor to getting away with it is your charisma, getting to the point where you show no ques of nervousness or indicators. Thus no employees will say anything, nor customers ratting, and if LP is watching will move on faster. It takes time but if you can just convince your mind your not stealing it helps with it.

be stealthy, learn from pickpocketing. the skill will let you get the item and hide it quickly. lurk on the raddle for methods and techniques.
