I just asked my brother who is an amazon rep, He said they ask you to return it anyways, would a better method be to just claim it was stolen or never arrived?

For a big ticket item, they might actually check with the post office and investigate. If your packages just get left with no signature and you never interact with the postal worker you'd be fine. If you deal with them face-to-face, you could wind up with trouble if you claim you never got it, and the USPS worker says they gave it to you and/or have your signature for it.

yeah thats just what I was thinking, Ill just buy it, wait for them to arrive and just let the USPS truck leave it and ill stay in my house. call amazon later that day and say my shit never showed up. Really hope this works, crossing my fingers, ill report back if it works.

Couldn't you find (through Ebay, Craigslist, yard sales, etc.) the item you want, buy it for next to nothing since it is broken, then buy it online, and if they ask you to return your online item just send them the broken one instead? Just make sure that any serial numbers on the box get damaged through "opening" the box or whatever...would that work?
