Is it stupid to bring a gun with you when you shoplift?

Submitted by Drshoplifter in Shoplifting

I bring my gun simply because its heavy and makes the bag look heavy and full no matter what i put in it. in my state, for a minor offense like shoplifting, having a gun brings no extra charges as long as you dont use it. Is it stupid tho? I mean, i have my license to carry, but i just feel like a dumb ass shoplifting with a firearm in a bag sometimes. and if im gonna go out shoplifting i should at least leave it in the car.

Depends, are you white? If not it could be the difference between a slap on the wrist and being murdered by a cop.

its really naive, 1 guy asked this on reddit, i felt like he was itching/ and looking for an excuse to use his gun(flashing it), if were to be caught by lp or employees. Hes asking to be on the news, and potentially getting charged with something more seriously than shoplifting, and he did talk about using it of course, we had to report him, these are one of the attention that shouldnt be brought to that subreddit. Having a gun is worst, since you get charged with felony burglary, with a deadly weapon. if you use a gun in anyway, threatening them or hit them, thats felony assualt.

Only bring a gun anywhere if you are prepared to use it.

Depends if you're caught with it,they may try to say you were in the store in an attempt to commit armed robbery

Its either that or Burglary, which is a felony. just like how the store feels about the charges.

I carry a knife always, but it’s more for protecting myself.

thats just as bad, unless its a pocket knife. Dint hear about that costco bust, 1 guy caught with a knife and he is serving a felony charge just for having a knife.
