First timer

Submitted by ThrowawayACRO387 in Shoplifting

How well would this work for a first timer?

Go into a clothing store in a mall on like a Saturday afternoon when it's hectic; grab a bunch of stuff to try on (like 5-6 items), decide to buy one or two things and lift one thing; use the elastic band method for the tag on the one thing; put it in the handbag; leave the other items in the changing room besides the 2 you actually intend to buy; buy normally; walk out.

Could it backfire?

Grab 7 or more of the same thing. The human brain can’t pay attention to more than 7 items at once and will have to actually count the items you entered the fitting room with

Theyll pause the cam and count what you have if they think your gonna steal so make it hard for them. I conceal the item im going to steal with the other items and keep them in that same position when i exit the fitting room and dump them all in the same spot just like that. then out the door. immediately.

I use a pair of jewelery makers needle nose pliers i lifted at Michaels in the jewelry making section. Its a lot faster imo, ive never attempted the rubber band methos because i heard its so hit or miss and takes a minute. Let me know how it goes. Make sure you put the tags in the pocket of one of the items you put back! Lol i walked out of a store w them in MY pocket one time. Actually it was victoria secret and thia same location had just been all over the media because a ORC group lifted a bunch of shit and broke out a taser on the way out because the girls working there were getting physical with them.

How do you use the pliers on those tags?

Work it loose, then slide the pliers between the two pieces kind of gripping the pin with the pliers and work it apart/pry until it pops open. Its not a perfected process but always works for me.

if it doesn't work with the rubber bands i don't mind just giving up, honestly. i'm not particularly keen on lifting, i just wanna try and save some money on clothes if it's not a huge bother. if it doesn't work i'll just leave it or buy it

malls are usually the best place, which stores are you hitting? Different stores have different security measures.

the New Yorker in my local mall. I live in eastern europe, so different security measures... no fitting room attendants or counting the items.
