I'm not really formally educated in any sense in Marxist thought, I barely have the time or energy to properly read a book, so all of what I've learned I've picked up intuitively from discussion and articles. It seems to me that there's a heated disagreement here on the desired level of engagement with society post-capitalism?

I think it's more about someone who wants to fight for indigenous / environmental rights now, and someone who is saying that's a waste of time and that they should just wait for a revolution to happen instead.
