Private Internet Access vpn blocks Signal Messenger calls, but there is a per app setting to allow the calls. Do you switch the vpn off for calls or just use that setting, and what are the privacy/security implications?

It turns out the phone and OS version are a little too old. Case closed.

This is good to know. Could you tell me what OS you were using incase I ever run into this issue?

I think you're mistaken. PIA doesn't block anything. It may, however, relate to the server you're using. For example, if Signal calls are blocked in Location X, and your VPN is tunneling you into Location X, then it will be blocked, but not by PIAs doing. Try changing locations, comrade.

I'm trying "unlock" Signal in the PIA "per app" settings, but it is not working. Signal calls work fine if I stop the PIA app. Maybe blocking is the wrong term. PIA only allows a few ports, and Signal calls use two different ports.
