Yea that, or you could install a remote desktop app, such as DWService, which is like free software Team Viewer-ish thingy. Easy.

I think for VPN server you might have to configure it on the router in use, so you may have to know the router admin password for that one to work.

You can still execute a program in a public librairy, or somethink like that, and use it as proxy. Find project on github.com
