Fantastic development, this should be rolled into all prison deprivatization efforts-- total noncooperation and ending of existing contracts with federal authorities, along with the for-profit corporations, and banning of all such entities from operating within the state.

Simultaneously, the size and extent of the state-level public prisons must be confronted-- this is the majority of the carceral state, and will present the bulk of the political challenge. However, the most egregious offenses of this rotten system are concentrated in federal immigration camps and private prisons, so this is great news for comrades in California to celebrate.
