5 hours ago I was like ill listen to one episode and then go to bed. now I'm on episode 5.

I don't even know what this guy did yet but I'm hooked. it's exactly like you said about it being focused on the personal experience. it's nice that the host clearly respects the gravity of what this people went though.

ya this is unlike any other true crime podcast I've listened to. It's always somehow even just a little relatable even though most of the experiences are quite extreme... and I think that's because it's completely centered on people's personal experiences navigating abuse (in all its nuanced and not-so-nuanced forms). Of everything I've listened to so far there's barely been anything about physical violence. Mostly crimes of emotional manipulation. And a lot of DEEP catfishing lol. Would be interested in what you think of it.

I tend to avoid true crime myself, if only because the genre is flooded with true crime entertainment podcasts and I cannot deal with those, literally making jokes about the worst thing that could happen to someone? Not my bag of tea, you know? But if this takes the pain of being victimized then I might give it a listen.

if anyone is interested in listening I'd recommend season 12 and season 9 (the only two i've listened to all the way through so far)

essentially... super in-depth first person narration describing personal experience of abusive relationships -- often multi episode -- ranging from subtle manipulation, to serious catfishing, to violent abuse. It sounds really dark and it often is but more than that it's just really validating and unique in how the host has people walk us through everything from start to finish, how things started all nice and normal then became (often gradually) totally fucked.

Not much to it, lol. Don't remember the full context, but some joking around between the two has turned chuckles into grumpy, then grumples, and the "What's New" section into "chisel’s thoughts on the week." There's also a call-back to grumples comparing chisel to Jerry Springer last week.

Gotcha, Yes unfortunately the room linked has been changed to invite only and never updated on the Anarchy Planet website. I have passed along information to AP to update link. In the meantime, I would strongly suggest emailing them or joining another channel on the IRC / Matrix bridge here: https://matrix.to/#/!zjFPRMWVToLCRjcdqO:riot.anarchyplanet.org?via=riot.anarchyplanet.org&via=matrix.org
