I am looking to create a website that bypasses paid membership programs of various news publishers. I am planning to accept micropayments(around 30 cents) for reading. Every cent except server costs will be donated back to news publishers.

I want to show news publishers that they can earn revenue by micropayments. They don't need to build yet another echo chamber parallel to social media full of subscribers that listen to only what they want to hear.

Now my concern is how to avoid getting traced back to this work. Is there a guide or How To thay can guide my way?

Njalla is a decent hosting provider that allows access over Tor and payments via crypto, you have the option of using an Email address or an XMPP account for sign up. Njalla acts as a middle man by assuming control of your domain name that way if anything occurs its not your name on records. And I frankly enjoy their responses to court orders.

I've used Njalla before and my only gripe was an unavoidable outtage that affected others in the same geograhic region. SAVED BY BACKUPS.

As far as the micropayments are concerned you will need a sort of go between currency that your site users will readily accept, I would recommend something like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin for easy adoptability or Monero if you want to protect buyer and seller from being identified in a transaction

there's already a free extension that bypasses paywalls without needing to pay

i don't know how realistic your idea is. the most glaring flaw (besides this already existing for free) is how you expect to be able to send payments to the news publishers. they aren't just going to accept a payment, and by taking payments in the first place you're just making it even more likely they're going to come down on you, and hard

I have been following this extension for sometime. And yes it gets the articles for free.

News publishers have boots on the ground. Their journalists know how to publish a news. If a significant portion of consumers start using plugins like the one mentioned here then sooner or later publishers will run out of money and then we will be left without a reliable source of information.

Almost every news publisher accepts donations. So, we can use it to transfer funds.

VPS may be useful? So you don't have to have the server physically connected to you.

There must be some that take XMR?

Most VPS providers usually take a great deal of details before giving us a VPS.

Surely there are some which are for running tor nodes? I can't imagine those, would take a lot of details.

Great! If you can and want, let me know your experience, I am sure others would be interested to hear about the future of this project or experiences with the VPS provider.
