I don't disagree with the thesis statement. However, the sample for arguing the thesis is not a good sample set. A cockroach will come into your home, eat your food and poop on it. A butterfly will not poop on your food. This is a sanitation difference, not an aesthetic one. Perhaps animals we chose to eat would be a better sample for this argument.

Yeah I was thinking this also. I think there may be a case for a spider vs a butterfly. With the exception of poisonous spiders I don't think spiders generally pose any risk to people yet people always be killing them.

But also what you said about the animals that are eaten vs animals that aren't is probably even better.

My sister sent me this one, saying she was sad bc this was truth. Maybe I disagree, mostly of morals I find to follow a utilitarian perspective, cockroach is a vector of diseases and the butterfly helps to pollinate, so we attribute aesthetic value to them.

But giving a second thought, ableism and sanism do have a aesthetic based moral. Villains and Bad people are often portrayed as disfigured or ugly people.

Not sure who is the person in the Meme tho
