Sadly, adoptive parents are not given adequate information and education about the challenges these children face. Sometime the adoptions are disrupted and the children are further victimized. This isn't going to change as long as the children are considered "products" that are sold at ever higher prices to "consumers" who may have been told that adoption was a "less expensive" alternative to assisted reproductive technology.

"You can always adopt" is a go-to soothing statement for infertility but it is neither true nor helpful to those of us who do not conceive effortlessly and is essentially child abuse to these kids, who deserve so much better than to be commodified.
