i understand that and i think it's great that you're not willing to cede jewishness to the state of israel, but zionism itself is a form of jewish identity politics and part of its mission statement is the transformation of jewry into a secular nation-state - it is, among other things, a response to the trauma of jewish history, not least of all the holocaust

that's not a defence of zionism, i have enough reasons to loathe it for what it's done to my own family. but i do think it's a reason not to conflate it with the single most painful memory in jewish public consciousness

i hope you understand i'm not calling you a bigot or anything but the article you linked is from the institute of historical review, one of the most infamous holocaust denialist organisations in america - i'm guessing you might not have known that so please avoid it in the future. it's not a reputable source of historical research and any claim that zionists and nazis shared a similar platform on what was named "the jewish question" is historically bogus

anyway i'd agree that zionism as we know it is a racist nationalism but any attempt to compare a jewish political ideology and nazism is always going to sit poorly with me as somebody with holocaust victims in my family. i guess that's all i really have to say about it
