Now let me preface this. Most americans live lavish lives but live precarious lavish lives. Which is meaningful. Precarity I'd a big problem. But in terms of lifestyle yeah is very wealthy. Source I'm living right next to a nieghborhoods that's I'd a bit nicer than slum with some nice slum houses mixed in. And yeah American lifestyle is fucking embarrassedly ritsy. Going outside makes me feel embarrassed it's that bad.

Which I knew and expected. But it's bad ad nice to confirm what I have read and written.

If you make more than $33k you’re in the global 1% of incomes. How can someone in the 1% not live a lavish lifestyle, especially compared to the bottom 50%?

Yeah I've said that pretty often. So I agree

Tho one thing I would add. Most people think that is just USD but it's actually based on purchasing power parity. So it's how much money you can buy with you salary. Which is a lot more meaningful. Because if it's just USD it's easy to dismiss it as oh I'm not that rich I just have a higher cost of living
