Good for them. I wish people were like this in the U.S. every time police brutality happened. It’s hard being one of the few politically aware people.

How does Madrid even have control of the police? Why would they take orders from Madrid instead of Catalonia's president?

The local police have been facing off against national police in some places - Spain only have control of the ones they shipped in. MCAB :P
