Actually, /u/ziq, why the fuck are you posting liveaction here? When did rabidly anti-abortion fundamentalist Christian 'news' become news, especially in cases like this where the title itself is clearly intended to be an anti-assisted-suicide hitpiece - the 'claim' is from his devout Catholic mother, and the 'starvation' is regarding both nutrition and hydration being offered intravenously to someone who has been unable to communicate for almost a decade - its not locking a quadriplegic man in a room and starving him, its pulling life support in accordance with his alleged request to his wife and siblings (who stated they'd prefer euthanasia, but its illegal in France.)

/u/rot too to offer some more context on the nature of liveaction.

I don't get how you accidentally post liveaction though, the sidebar on every article is blatantly bad.

People who post 150 links a day don't fucking read them all. I don't even click them 99% of the time, just copy paste from reddit's worldnews and dump.

Really starting to piss me off how people who don't post shit keep giving me the third degree.

This is exactly the kind of shit that makes people terrified to post anything here. Just say "heads up: this is an anti abortion site" or whatever and I or a mod will delete it. Don't fucking attack me over some site I've never even been to when I spend hours every day getting content for you all.

His wife and siblings think its inhumane to keep him alive in such a state for the rest of his life, and his wife also says that he'd said he wouldn't want to kept like that.

His parents have been fighting that for years on grounds of their religion, literally getting the Pope involved at one point.

ok, what does he want? you know, the one dying. Usually assisted suicide is done with meds

We don't know. He's literally incapable of communicating. His wife claims he said before not to keep him on life support, but that's all we have. The 'cried' claim, likewise, is from his mother and only seized upon by sites like this (which are chiefly anti-abortion.)

France doesn't actually allow for assisted suicide - this is life support being cut.
