As if I needed more reasons to never go back.

The state will require taxpayer-funded colleges and universities to issue surveys to determine "the extent to which competing ideas and perspectives are presented"

Huh...so private universities are exempt? Almost like there's an AGeNdA behind this or something.

What does "presenting ideas and perspectives" even look like in a campus setting? Do cop-haters get a fair, unbiased look into their perspectives through texts or are we too "fringe" to count as "acceptable opinion"? What about anti-Americanism? Or critiques against Israel?

DeSantis didn't offer any specific examples of that repression but instead claimed he "knows a lot of parents" who are worried their children will be "indoctrinated" with ideas they don't support, and a pair of state legislators complained that Florida colleges and universities had become "socialism factories."

Fuck the parents. If you're in college, you're likely an adult. If you can't handle the idea of your children being adults with opinions that you had nothing to do with, tough shit. Children aren't property, children who've become adults aren't property.

Public Colleges aren't socialist, they're just disgustingly liberal.

DeSantis also signed a law prohibiting university and college officials from limiting campus speech that "may be uncomfortable, disagreeable or offensive," and will allow students to record lectures without consent that may be used as evidence in a civil or criminal case against educational institutions.

It's all fine and dandy until someone promotes stealing school supplies from the campus bookstore, downloading illegal copies of textbooks, and drug use.
