When the DPRK told its people in certain areas to scavenge during the 1994-1998 famine, you didn't see Kim Jong-un's father on North Korean TV crying his eyes out -- Kim Jong-il was reserved and aloof. I'm not saying that Kim Jong-un crying on camera is proof that his wasn't acting, it's just a different tack for a country afraid to admit mistakes.
