Do we really need to go through the electoral motions again to re-learn the same lessons that you cannot simply vote away the problems of capitalism?

Yes, that’s how it works. People don’t just hop on board the ss revolution and set sail, it’s a process and it’s slow.

Is this process actually leading to revolution, though? Frankly, I think not getting people's hopes invested in the electoral process is a much better idea than: doing so, then hoping they get mad instead of dejected when it doesn't work out, and subsequently hoping they decide to mobilize that anger into meaningful direct action or at least further organization outside electoralism, and then praying to almighty god that despite all the resources that have been sunk into electoralism there have been fruitful material conditions established for anticapitalist and antihierarchical action.

But everything indicates the opposite is true, in fact.

Electoralism is a cycle, it maintains an overall status quo through a dynamic set of transitions and stages. Just because it is a process, does not mean it proceeds to any particular outcome.

Im not saying we should give people false hope, but they’ll only listen to us after they understand the inevitable failure of electoralism. It’s a necessary part of growing politically for a lot of people

I see what you're getting at

I also think that a lot of ppl never grow this way, bc they miss the radicalization and defer into cynicism. But sure, somedo
