I've seriously considered starting a program where I offer pretty personalized help with learning good financial skills. But I never wrote it up due to the worry that I would frame it in a way that does nothing but defend capitalism and come off as me saying systemic racism isn't a problem since some of its shortcoming can be solved.

I guess just due to the nature how almost every single article about learning finance is rooted in B's about how anyone can do it and people should stop whining and pull themself up by their boostraps. So I think a intersectional resource that helps people cope with capitalism and gives them knowledge to help keep their situation from getting worse is desperately needed.

But I struggle with imagining such a program as all the ones I've seen spend lots of time apologizing for oppressive systems. I also don't want to come off as saving the unintelligent poor's from themself.

It's not that I believe these things it's just that these concepts are so rooted in every thing about finance I've seen I wouldn't want to drag that baggage with me.

Also how would I advertise it? Like "financial tutoring that doesn't blame u for your struggle?" Idk I can't think of anything quick and snappy to out on a flyer that would get the point across..

But then again let's thing about this. Due to underfunding of schools most poc communities don't have access to this kind of education and if they due it probably fucking sucks. If both your parents are busy working to put food in the table they don't have time to teach you. Especially true in one parent households.

And if your parents don't know about this they can't teach you. And if you are in a situation where you know nothing about finance it's really hard to take the first step forward to learn. If you even have the resources needed to learn, i.e. energy after work, time after work to dedicate, internet to access the information and background education to understand what the guide are talking about. Not to mentioned children and adults are alike propagandized by companies to buy more consumer goods.

And especially considering the trauma of being poor thinking about finance can be really anxiety inducing. So I think the ones who need it the most will are the ones who need the more personal, compassionate one on one tutoring.

Idk, I guess the only thing stopping from planning out a program and doing it is worry that I can't adapt finance in a way that it doesn't apologize for oppressive systems and is only a mere stop gap to help people suffer less.

Feel free to comment thoughts I appreciate them. Though I'm mostly just writing to myself.

That being said if anyone wants the advice from me. It can be as personal as you want tho I imagine it will have to be more vague since most people on this site care a lot about OPSEC.
