Anyone listen to Trance? youtube.com

I've seen some left wing EDM before, but I feel like Trance is an under appreciated genre and potentially good for the soundtrack of Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism.

Never went with trance as much as some of the other electronic genres but there are some good netlabels with some good free shit that might be worth checking out, I can link them if you want

Not lately, but I've enjoyed it in the past while on ecstasy. It's very easy to see the appeal of a music when you're on the drugs its often made to be paired with.

I've done it with weed, but honestly? The music is beautiful on its own and good enough for me lmao.

I love trance, especially psytrance. It's an acquired taste, so I wouldn't recommend that beginners to the genre to start with the "hardcore" psytrance bands. A good album for starters is Back to Space by Artifact303. After that, try Curious Corn by Ozric Tentacles.

Be warned, though: there's a lot of overlap between psytrance fans and the new age movement. You'll occasionally come across songs with lyrics about woo such as indigo children, UFOs, or my personal least favourite, """vibrations.""" It's frustrating, because a lot of these songs are musically beautiful, but hearing those lyrics makes me roll my eyes so far back into my own head that I can see my own brain shrinking.

You might be interested to read a book around Goa trance and psytrance and white people, Arun Saldanha's Psychedelic White.

Sounds interesting. I'll give it a read once I have some free time.
