Microdosing is quite different. It helps you sharpen up and summon your creativity, but I doubt it'd be very effective against depression (as opposed to a full blown trip - shrooms have the capability to completely reset your brain, and restore chemical balance). However, I could be wrong - I have been microdosing, but I haven't been depressed while doing so. I have taken a lot of big travels though.

That aside, I don't trust big pharmacy to simply hand out clean, organic shrooms straight from the earth. I'd much rather get them from a trusty dark web dealer with no agenda.

You still possibly feel the trip on microdosing, just not as intense as taking it normally.

I don't know anything at all about microdosing, but if you read the Carlos Casteneda books[1] they might help you feel better about doing a full blown trip without a medical doctor to advocate for you.

I do think psychedelics would be helpful and I hope someone more knowledgeable than myself can give you the answers you need.

[1] https://archive.org/details/teachingsofdonju00cast is the first one, but your library discard sale probably has them in the buck a bag bin.

Thanks a ton for your answer, I'm sure it can be of help to someone - but I've tripped more times than I can count on four hands, on LSD, psilocybin and DMT - I should have added that in my comment above.

Awesome of you to reach out with a helping hand, though.

I'm such a dork.

When I was a kid, there was a rumour going around at school that if you dropped five hits of acid, you would either find enlightment or go permanently insane. We're talking little kids in the '70s with no internet, so most of us just assumed it was a fact.

That's why I wanted to take ten hits of acid at my first Rainbow Gathering, so I'm not sure how helpful I really am, lol.

i have a friend who's currently microdosing with shroom but i don't know how she got them from the doctor. also i found these two articles

https://www.zamnesia.com/content/615-microdosing-information

https://thethirdwave.co/microdosing/mushrooms/

imo, it's probably better to get shroom from a dealer than getting prescribed for microdosing.

Thanks.

Has your friend confirmed that she feels they made a positive difference?

She's trippy all the time and sleep a lot while on shroom. We have some interesting conversations whenever she's on the trip. But her response was shroom helped her sleep better than weed, though I found the opposite. She has bad insomnia for a while before she was prescribed with mushroom.

Reccommended, no. Been supportive of me doing it? Yes at least 3.

I highly recommend microdosing for depression/anxiety/trauma and have had amazing results.
