Spot on.

When I was young I had to go to the shrink a lot but I rarely felt they contributed anything except giving me a safe space to express myself. Fortunately they never gave my any drugs.

A lot of people in my life are studying to be or already are psychologists and I feel they fit a certain stereotype. I'm not sure if it's correct but it feels like they all had a troublesome youth (well who hasn't) and feel like they want to be psychologists because they want to help people while still getting a similar status of say a doctor but without having to do the hard stuff that's required for that.

Therapists are usually motivated by money and don't want to fix you completely, in order to have you keep coming back. I've literally had one therapist try to sell me some MLM pyramid scheme crap lol. The only therapist that ever actually helped me a little bit was one that was a part of my university, so she would be paid a wage regardless if I was there or not.

Drugs on the other hand, well, I need something to help me cope with this capitalist hell.

The DSM is psychiatry (medicine). Physics does not explain emotion!

Neurotic build castles in the air. Psychotics live in them. Psychiatrists collect the rent!
