Marx-Engels Correspondence 1862

Karl Marx:

"The Jewish nigger Lassalle who fortunately leaves by the end of this week, has lost another 5,000 thaler in speculation. I realize now that he - his head form and his hair growth are evident enough - is a descendant of niggers, who joined Moses' exodus from Egypt. The intrusiveness of this chap is also very niggerish."

I worship no philosopher. We don't need them. We are all philosophers.

We are all philosophers.

That is until we read stuff we write in the past and cringe at our hot takes.

Is this not what all good philosopher's do? Its why people point to early works or later works isn't it? And that's what revisions are for lol

I kinda wish raddle had more Marxists just so I could watch them defend this.

History tells me they'd do it by saying Bakunin was anti-Semitic because that's how they always defend Stalin's homophobia... Failing to realize anarchists don't give a shit about Bakunin. We don't live our lives in dedication to some dead guy.

I'll guess we won't ever get many Marxists unless we change how we do things around here.

Eh.

Marxists don't stay in places where all dissent isn't censored and banned on sight. They're used to incredibly controlled environments where anything that doesn't fall in line with strict authcom ideology is purged for being divisive. The moment anarchists go against the grain and aren't punished for it, they abandon ship.

With this train of thought, is it really a loss for raddle? Marxists seek to implement a government. We already have that. Pretty sure replacing one state with another won't fix much.

It's a loss for humanity that the whole world has been corrupted by authority.

I dig the word choice: authority and corruption go hand in hand.

Marx wrote his theories for highly devoloped mega industrial European civilization and successfully spread this destructive authority to the rest of the world, reshaping indigenous cultures in the image of the factory. Capitalism and communism are 2 sides of the same coin. Marx was the ultimate colonizer. His theories turned billions of people into workers. Commodities for global capital. The glorious Western civilization he so fetishized has taken over every inch of the planet and led us to the biggest mass extinction event in Earth's history.

If you repudiate 'great man theory', maybe you should stop calling yourself a Marxist. It has a man's name right in the word. Be a BrowseDuringClass1917ist instead.

Of course, the irony isn't lost on me that the term marxism is itself based on the last name of Marx.

I think it is or you wouldn't be claiming you don't idolize the guy.

Are you the one who downvoted this post? How do you justify downvoting one of your hero's own quotes? If you're gonna brand yourself with his name, you can't just ignore what he stood for when it's inconvenient.

Thanks for the downvote. One more thing, has it ever occurred to you the reason Marxists get so salty when you point out Marx's many flaws is because they absolutely embody great man theory and only came up with the phrase to deflect criticism from people that realize how creepy it is to glorify a dead white bigot who believed in race science and thought the white man and his civilization should reign supreme over all the "savages"? Marx was a white supremacist.

How are you defining "libertarian"? I've seen you defend authoritarian Marxists before so I'm not really sure how you're different from an authcom. Do you believe in a worker's state? Do you oppose hierarchy and authority?

Why would anyone brand themselves after this guy? It would be like calling yourself a Melgibsonist or a Daviddukite.

We sometimes have a problem because people do not understand the ideology that Marx and Engels began to develop. People say, “You claim to be Marxists, but did you know that Marx was a racist?” We say, “He probably was a racist: he made a statement once about the marriage of a white woman and a black man, and he called the black man a gorilla or something like that.” The Marxists claim he was only kidding and that the statement shows Marx’s closeness to the man, but of course that is nonsense. So it does seem that Marx was a racist. ... If you are a dialectical materialist... Marx’s racism does not matter. You do not believe in the conclusions of one person but in the validity of a mode of thought; and we in the [Black Panther] Party, as dialectical materialists, recognize Karl Marx as one of the great contributors to that mode of thought. Whether or not Marx was a racist is irrelevant and immaterial to whether or not the system of thinking he helped to develop delivers truths about processes in the material world.

They can't reconcile their collective delusion of marx as an ultra woke defender of justice and equality with the ugly reality that he was just another colonizing white supremacist who happened to advocate for an alternate mode of production.
