This is a great idea, there are no receipt checkers in my garden center before 1pm so I'll hit them and walk out of the garden center. Plus they now have the Christmas trees out in the garden center so it's a lot easier to walk out without being seen. I'm gonna give this a go within the next week and update everyone.

It's always good to keep an eye out for possible lp as being able to spot plainclothes is an important skill. However I prefer a simple approach... My partner and I consider everyone to be lp. This removes the guesswork and keeps us out of compromising situations.

I always go through my mind of any plausible deniability excuses of goods are found on me for lifting: -is bought these clothes earlier and came back to match them up since I had more time(for clothes hidden in my purse) -my mobility cane is folded in my purse and has magnetic components (if I ever set off a magnet alarm) -for a bag full of unpaid groceries I Day I was shopping for a friend, got confused and forgot to pay. These all work for me as I’m older but you have to figure out beforehand what you plan to say if caught. Lastly, deny deny deny and never admire you lifted it. But you guys know that.

I know. It’s hard to believe but it has always made me super aware of my surroundings. I can still see what’s around me. I do a quick visual scan and make sure nothing is on my blind side. I’ve been that way since birth so I don’t really know the difference haha

I’m not sure what you’re talking about here but if it makes any difference I AM visually impaired and blind in one eye. Though that’s not important to the context of the word.

Torrid is really easy. I hit mine all the time. I'd give it a 3/10. No lp at all. No cameras in the store. Anything that goes for hot topic can apply to torrid when lifting. There are only ever up to 3 employees at a time, sometimes less. 2 usually stay at the register. The other will do whatever. They usually dont count your items and you can run in and out of the fitting rooms for more stuff. They ink tag lots of stuff and have alarms at the front of the store. A lot of the time they get lazy and wont tag certain things so always check. They never tag underwear, or bras. They tag most bralettes, but a lot of the time you can find them without tags. I used to work there so I know a lot about what goes on. People usually dont stay there long since they make $7.50-$8. So of you lift, go back in 3 months and it'll be a new set of workers.

Hey heads up, using blind to refer to anything that isn't actual blindness is ableist and not acceptable on raddle. Please refrain from this in future.

Yes .. All the time. I've gotten to where I can't spot normal employee behavior anymore unless they just ignore me. The first interaction is suspect to me. I would have had a heart attack with your little scares. So happy for you they meant nothing. Been there 😰💛

Either my purse or a store shopping bag. I usually bring a shopping bag from another store that already has something in it. If ever stopped and they look in my purse or bag I plan to say I bought it at another location a while back and trying to match pieces up. I probably get one to two pieces per store and just go around the mall. It adds up too.

Thanks for saying this! Today at Wal fart I “missed” scanning two items. Cheap too. A very talkative older German attendant at the self checkout came up, HANDLED and chatted about my food, visibly looked at the running total for the price of one item so she “could go and buy it for herself after work”. Omg! She even had a teeny little notebook she was writing it. She didn’t say anything about the items and I paid with cash but it was still upsetting! I mean are they really going to get me for $8.00 worth of stuff?
