I've been looking for a site like this for so long. I started lifting long after the lifting subreddit got closed down, so I've never had anyone to tell about this! Anyways, I've been lifting from M@cys and JC for about a year, my first one was a pair of pants in the size up from ones I had already bought there. I bought a size 8 and they tore on the hip cause they were too small, went in and tried on the exact pair a size up and thought to myself Gee, why don't I just wear these out? It was such a rush, I walked the whole way home expecting the police to come around the corner and tackle me.
Anyways, my new method is using an actual shopping bag. I go to a mall that I make sure has a M@cys and a JC. (A lot of malls I've been to has this setup.) I always wear in a jacket, one that's not trashy but clearly not brand new. I go to one of the bathrooms in the mall and put the jacket into the extra-large M@cys bag that I got a long time ago when I bought a larger product, and I put my purse in there too to take up space. Then I go to JC and shop around! Just walking in with a M@cys bag is so easy, everyone's walking around with bags from other stores. I make sure no one's around when I take clothes into the dressing room and just start putting them in the bag. I always take in clothes I won't wear, usually 2 of the same item in different sizes, one that fits and one that doesn't so it looks like I'm just trying them on. Eventually I take the purse and jacket out and put those back on my person. Then I just walk out of that JC with my M@cys bag full of "M@cys" products. Never really had an issue, but sometimes I'm a little too chatty with the employees and then I feel bad and leave. If it's a big enough mall I'll actually go back to the M@cys and grab a couple things from there, although they have a lot more tagged items and I've yet to get a magnet. Does anyone see a major flaw in this method that I haven't seen? My biggest steal was a $200 CK coat, I was so excited but I can't wear it that often because I wore it once and got a LOT of questions... "How did you afford that!?" Was annoying aha.
Haven't lifted clothes for a while, been busy and I prefer to lift from stores that are at least an hour away from me. Most recent lift was a bunch of ol@y products from a CVS, I was legitimately there for a doctor's appointment and I was bored waiting so I wanted to see how many I could bring to the bathroom and unbox and put in my purse haha. Was definitely more risky but there were only two employees in the whole store so I was just having fun. Sorry this is such a long post, I'm just so excited to talk to someone else about it!! It's the only secret I've never even been able to tell my best friend so it's hard to stay quiet!

The biggest claw I see is you said sometimes you go back to macys and get stuff there. I would highly suggest not doing that. All it would take is one person to remember you came earlier and just grabbed a bag to bust you. Also I'm not sure if you take multiple trips to fitting room and slowly fill your bag or just one trip. My advice keep it to one trip then immediately leave after because if your doing multi trips they have time to catch on,also more time to set up and bust you.
