anyone ever lifted from a store they used to work at? did you feel some kind of guilt for lifting at a place where you might've made some work friends? just curious. i have and i felt a tad bit guilty but not too much bc it wasn't the exact store i used to work at.

Guess I'll be the first to drop the 'Don't shit where you eat' line. Nah, i don't. Its unnecessarily risky when I can steal from somewhere that wouldn't jeopardize my job

edit: sorry! I didnt see it said USED to work at. Yeah, thats fair game! You know all the secrets!

As a prior Store Manager, definitely don't shit where you eat.

Just because you work there doesn't mean you know every in and out, I've caught many of my own people, and I've had our HQ bust some that I never would have suspected. It's easier just to lift from someplace similar. I.E. if you work at CV$ then hit W@lgreens

I worked at a restaurant that was nearly going out of business due to every single employee quitting after two weeks because of how bad the owner treated us. He followed us around, yelled at us in front of customers, directly insulted us to our faces, screamed at us, drank beer on shift, and sat down all day never once helping us. We got a thirty on our health inspection because he's so lazy he doesn't make anyone clean anything or impose any regulations whatsoever. Long story short, the day I hopped on the same boat and quit like everyong else, I cleaned them out. Took a backpack in and it was soap, toilet paper, tissues, wipes, cleaning products... everything I could find that I wanted. I have enough toiletries for 6 months. I don't feel guilty that I stole from an almost bankrupt business because the only reason it's bankrupt is because he abuses his employees and can't keep anyone hired for more than a few weeks.

maybe its becauses he drinks so much, and on the job. toiletries are pratically nothing to what a restuarant brings in, usually most of thier money is made from alcohol, except if your dealing with large chain ones.

Used to work at as a teenager, for sure. I wouldn't feel comfortable if there were people there that I used to know. Do you feel like you know more about the store than the average bear? because that would def be a plus.

Yeah somewhat. I know that those cameras aren't always looked at and that the quality of them are garbage and where the good concealment aisles are. Sorry for the delayed response. I've been dealing with some personal issues.

Yes, its the perfect cover. No, i never feel bad about lifting. I only lift from large companies that make so much money they could hemmorhage 100 dollar bills 24 hrs a day and still turn profit. The way i see it, they put their store in MY town and pushed all the local business owners out or in to a meager survival mode. I'm getting my cut that they made harder for me to obtain legally

We had a produce section, so it was pretty damn easy to lift food lmao. But I doubt that counts.

Former SM here. I lift at my old stores on a weekly basis. I wear a disguise. I came face-to-face with my old ASM who worked for me for yearsssss, and he didn’t recognize me. It worked out well bc I knew exactly what his behavior would have been if he suspected me, but he didn’t.

ETA: When I worked for the company, I did kind of shit where I ate by fudging our inventory numbers. I changed the numbers so that it’d look like the missing items left the store legitimately. I won’t go into details though bc I don’t want to incriminate myself.

That is smart. I don't understand why you got so many downs though?

Probably because of their personality.
