I'm typing this just as I got home, so this happened a little under an hour ago.
Today I was going to try detagging some items I wanted from my sporting goods store with a stack of magnets I lifted back in December. I literally have not stepped foot in that store since like March of last year, so it's been about, what, ten months since I've been there to lift.
I remember the store having some BB guns that had lanyard tags attached, so I went there to go see if my magnets would work. Unfortunately, when I had arrived to what I thought was the BB gun aisle, which it was ten months ago, it was now the billiards aisle. Huh. Well, I saw some lanyard tags attached to some punching bags in the same aisle.
I found that sort of humorous that they'd bother tagging those because I'm pretty sure anyone would notice if someone was trying to push a six foot, one hundred pound mass of fabric out the door. I didn't get around to trying my magnets on them because there were people near my aisle and I had my eyes on a really thick armored bike lock that I could take use of. I ended up shoving it down my jacket once the coast was clear, and I left the store. Store total: $21.99.
I then walked to a hardware store in my mall because I lost my box cutter that I lifted December too, and box cutters never fail to let me down. I strutted towards the knife aisle, and people around me made me sort of suspicious so I just texted on my phone. Coast was clear, took a box cutter and shoved it in my hoodie pocket. No problem.
I saw they had more neodymium magnets stocked. Do I want to take them? No, I'm sure my stack should suffice, and if it doesn't I'll order a golf detacher because I've been here too often in the past month. Store total: $2.99. Measly, but that's pretty much what I walked into the store for. Not returning for a while, I've been there like 6 times in 30 days, and now I have all I need from them.
Edit: Yeah, this box cutter I lifted let me down though, the safety randomly engages every time you open it. I'm gonna stick with my Milwaukee flip knife.
Not my most interesting story ever, but my first lift of 2019.
Year total so far: $24.98. I didn't need much today.
Thanks for reading.

I really respect how you usually tend to take just what you came for / need.
