As for #6 where I live the self scanner will weigh the item. If the weight doesn’t match up it automatically send a message to the person watching over the self checkout area. In theory it’s a cool idea, may not work everywhere unless there is something I’m not understanding.

True, but there's an easy way to avoid this if your register has a scanning wand. Just leave the item in your cart and scan with the wand. Doing that bypasses the weight check.

Keep weights close to each other or rearrange things. Then just put the bagged item in the cart. These things are so touchy that the cashiers know it too. Especially if the place is busy they will never think twice.
