I’ve had the recent idea after a few close calls while totally ransacking Pokémon cards into my pants at target for resell. To dress as an employee and possibly come in with a dolley and load stuff up and walk out. At my target there is rarely a security guard and the guy at front is a 350+ pound man. I think it’ll work due to COVID, (mask + hat for facial concealment, aswell as no clothing to describe me because I’m wearing a targé uniform. Thoughts?

All depends on LP.

Some places will watch new employees like a hawk. If you run into this scenario you are screwed. They will watch you even more because your face does not match any of the new employees they met in orientation.

I advise against doing this. Have a friend who did this at walmart.... they might charge you with burglary because it's obviously premeditated

Good point. If I really did want to plan something like this out I would have better luck finding a way to delete footage. I’ll probably make a post asking about details on Walmart/targe security footage

while you are masterminding your plan, people are walking out with all kinds of shit cause they have cajones. If you're gonna be a criminal then do it. Otherwise go back to your office cubicle

Wish I knew what a cajone was. Not to mention the best part about stealing is not being in jail...

Love the idea, can definitely work, sometime the more visible you are at the same time invisible

I'd try a different store. Targie has a rep for being very aggressive with pursuing felony theft cases and once they realize something's wrong they'll pull out all the stops to find you. Even with a mask and disguise I'd be worried about fingerprints or DNA evidence as Targie has a private forensic lab they use for higher profile cases. Ofc it's doubtful they'll go that far for a single case (they're definitely focused on ORC) but why take the risk when there's hundreds of other stores that don't have their own CSI team?

Good point. Never heard of the forensic lab that’s crazy. I’ll try to find some other places that are highly staffed without that many barriers. Do stores like that keep tabs on people that are in often but don’t buy anything. I’d prefer to scout the place out first so I’d know everything I’m dealing with.
