I don't think Lowes uses Alpha brand security tags. I don't personally have any experience with the turtle tags but from what I have seen you could theoretically cut the banding but the tag itself alarms just from being jarred even ever so slightly. So actually deactivating it is your best bet.

I do repeat I have no personal experience with the turtle tags but I have seen videos of people in stores just moving boxes secured with them and them sounding.

The detachers at Lowes do NOT have alarms on them. The cord is simply braided metal to keep the magnet attached to the checkout counter

I was not talking about the detachers. I was referring to the sensitivity of the turtle tags themselves.

Even when you deactivate it will chirp. It chirps when it's first activated, it will go off when disturbed or the bands are cut, and will chirp when deactivated. The chirp is loud. They're made to attract attention to deter lifters that can remove them.

Take item to garden center. Cut straps on turtle tag. Hail Mary turtle over the fence. Leave.

Amazing. Lowes I frequent has only half their merch tagged. Seems odd that they even bother
