Y’all are sad

Submitted by Rosechild in Ignore_please

Is it just me but are memes just a way to say you’re scared through irony and other subtle messages “If the earth was round why is x flat and not like this”- flat earth is a dumb idea “Loss”- idk like I guess that joke formats are kindof dumb or something or that it was odd to have a serious panel in a video game comic Okay I’m tired and I really wasent wanting to write about memes but hope... we as young lads are all out of hope and nhilism seems very attractive and I don’t blame people. Like you dudes might be adults but us kids know about the national debt and like the student loans and that the job market is dumb and about trump and healthcare and just we arnt okay We’re scared Scared of school shooting Scared of debts we can’t pay Scared of graduating high school to go to college and then going to a job that can pay for the student debts and like this is like a whole bunch of things We have mental illnesses We have needs We arnt entitled We need love and sorry and hugs feel like lies now

I think I kind of get your point and don't really disagree with you...but how are we sad? We're in this fucked up world just like you. Just trying to deal with it the best we can. I don't think any of us has the answer to it all.

I'm not a big fan of memes also (there are some funny ones though), but it's just a tool to release frustration I guess.

I was tired and like I was meaning that we’re all just out of hope and the way we talk about the world reflects that

Oh, I totally get what you're saying. It's hard not to give in to the hopelessness. Just keep your spirits high (as hard as that may seem sometimes) and a smile on your face. It's people like you who are keeping the insanity at bay believe it or not. At least you are actively thinking instead of just moving along through life like a drone, not realizing all that's wrong. You have to know what's wrong if you expect even the slimmest chance of fixing it. Most people haven't even gotten that far!

We're all in this together. All of us here at least are proof of that. For me it's comforting to know that there are others like me everywhere. That's what gives me some hope.

nihilism is more about giving in to learned helplessness than the actual reality. life is purposeful, if it wasn't, there would be no need for evolution. life would stay in invertebrate form, and the world would be full of sea slugs roaming around. (well, not exactly, but you get the idea). the notion that humans are an evolutionary accident is ignoring evolutionary history.
