Still, despite all this, the work they did WAS a step towards properly being empowered; it was a chance to display they COULD do it, even if it was them being manipulated for work (which honestly is fair when you're stopping the actual full on holocaust). They were treated badly after, but it was a major step in woman's rights to have them do a "man's" job.
