Persepolis is the ancient capital of the Persian Achaemenid Empire, located in Iran. It was built during the reign of Darius the Great, Xerxes I and Artaxerxes I. While the city is now in ruins, you can still admire the colossal buildings covered in relief sculptures of bulls, lions, mythical creatures, with enormous columns, and grand marble staircases. Today we can see here the ruins of the Apadana Hall, the Gate of All Nations, the Tachara Palace, the Hadish Palace, and many more.
