From conversations with members of this group where I live, they seem hellbent on implementing a "green" capitalism backed by governments taking extreme authoritarian methods (they talk about implementing war-time measures akin to those taken in World War 2). To be honest they are more damaging to the fight against climate collapse than helpful by limiting our answers to what is needed to less democracy and a continuance of capitalism. They need challenging everywhere in my opinion.

no my definition of authoritarian is enacting war-time measures as "implementing war-time measures akin to those taken in World War 2", and as for anarcho-capitalist...since when has anarchists of any colour looked towards government to implement solutions...that's just limiting the debate about what needs to be achieved. "reduce consumption levels"...guess who that will effect the most, those who can least afford it, those on a low income who can't afford to insulate their homes, can't afford low energy devices, can't afford to live close to work, can't afford modern cars.. Anarchists may be involved, but I for one, can't see they offer anything to an anarchist to support apart from their direct action tactics (I'm anarcho-communist by the way)

Weird, that doesn't jibe with anything I've heard. What makes you certain a couple of randoms represent XR as a whole?

what you want me to say...that's my understanding of the group where I live and I've not heard anything to change my mind, despite a lot of fine words...If it's not revolutionary don't give things revolutionary importance

I'm not saying you're wrong about people you've talked to where you are. I'm just suggesting they're not necessarily representative of XR itself. What you've described doesn't represent me or anyone I'm involved with in my local group (...except p'raps some of the newer or fringe folks who haven't joined the dots yet).
