I changed my mind. Super Bubble Bobble (arcade). Especially if you do the cheat to get full power ups. I played that everyday as a kid and still play it now.

Master System had the best home port.

Never played that one but I played a lot of the first one for the NES. Never could beat it without Game Genie though. :)

It's the same game. Just powered up.

Gunstar Heroes was another great one.

I loved Sunset Riders! It isn't a sidescroller though. It's a lot more like the Commando arcade game.

Arcade. 4 players. I was a SEGA kid, didn't get a SNES until I was an adult. But Mega Drive had Turtles Hyperstone Heist.

Konami was on the top of the game with Arcade beat em ups. X-men with 6 players was always a blast. Also Simpsons.
