The forum should be rename to "francophonie" for french news of all countries that have french as an official language. Or to "news in french" or something to just post all kind of news but in french. I don't like keeping f/France french, far too nationalistic for my taste. After all France have lots of regions with different languages. Breton, occitan, basque, norman, etc.

I've thought about renaming it "race"m so we get " /f/rance " lol

I disagree that this forum is nationalistic, I'd rather call it "localized". We already have non-french news about france in /f/europe.

I've got trouble seeing why you're not ok with speaking the country's language in a forum about that language. Also we're not deleting non-french posts either.

The regional languages were killed in the 1800s when school became mandatory. Anything left are zombies.

I would have the same problem if f/USA had a rule about english only when there is many native languages. The history isn't the same but those languages are still use and tried to be preserve by these regions. The french imposed their language and forbid all others. I'm all in for a lingua franca but historicaly it was terribly implemented so I really don't like the "France is french" rhetoric.

Well i wouldnt be bothered if there was a forum for news on china that prefered chinese, if there were another forum in english. (nb that we dont ban english links either!)

There are probably more people speaking arabic than localized languages atm. Nobody uses localized languages in everyday life, or if they do, they're bilingual with french. Everybody in france speaks french.

Also raddle has a .onion address and I'm also trying to carter to french people using tor looking for a forum in french.

English translation:

I don't see races, we're all the same race, the human race. We should stop speaking about whites, blacks, asians. Speaking about races is racist.

I, am a good person.

TRANSLATION:

I'll use my privileges to silence the concerned people, and pretend that not speaking about racism will make it disappeared. When we don't talk about a problem, it disappears by itself, it's well known!
