I'm not going to bother going further than this. Comment chains aren't limited like they were on the old site. Not this far, at least.

Let's see if it still works when there's a block of text.

If you’re waiting for the consumer class to rise up against their neoliberal masters, it’s just never going to happen. We’ve moved far beyond the times of the Russian/Spanish revolutions. Even in Greece, the most glaring example of a Western society torn apart and left for dead by neoliberal policy; the vast majority of the populace remain beholden to capitalism. Humanity has become so ensnared in this impossible maze that the only way out of it is collapse – collapse of industry, environment, culture, wealth, civilization. Humans demonstrate everyday that they won’t free themselves even as the world burns around them, but collapse will force some of us to abandon the neoliberal maze, and the rest will die clinging to its ashes.

Hopefully not like the old site where it was horizontally condensed to the point that each line was only a few characters.

It's not as bad as that, but mobile optimization hasn't happened yet so it'll get better.

Does the same thing for me. Your block of text up there was single words, blended with the vertical side lines, all the way down. Landscape view was better, though I could see a few more comments making that view just as horizontally condensed.

The lines bleed into the text and the text becomes condensed the further you scroll. It's fine if you hold the phone sideways, tho.
